In 2021-22 school year 58% of Christa McAuliffe Charter School District students failed the Science portion of MCAS

Of the 117 students who took part in the MCAS, 58% did not meet the testing standard in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

These students did not meet the required standards of the Science portion of the MCAS, compared to the 42% who did.

The number of Christa McAuliffe Charter School District students who failed their Science assessments rose by 33.3% from the previous school year.

Christa McAuliffe Charter School District roughly covers schools within Middlesex County and has a main office in Framingham.

In the 2021-22 school year, 135,538 students took the Science test in Massachusetts with 58% students failing, 13.9% more than the year before.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's 2022 Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS), the average scale score for grade 10 English Language Arts was 503, which met the expectation level, while the average scale score for grade 10 Science was 499, which only partially met the expectation level.

The results of the spring 2022 MCAS examinations were mixed, with declines in ELA scores and gains in Math and Science scores since 2021. Overall results indicate a need for improvement as compared to pre-pandemic levels.
