The process: cracks are cleaned out with air wands then hot rubberized crack sealer in placed in crack. Sand blasting black sand is spread on the sealer to prevent it from sticking to tires while it cools.
This is a fast-moving process.
Crack Sealing helps prevent cracks from turning into potholes. It extends the life of the pavement. It is a cost-effective preventative maintenance measure for streets with moderate to minor cracking. Once the level of crack development reaches the severe or extensive, other pavement repair techniques need to be utilized.
