In the 2021-22 school year, white students were the most represented ethnicity in Norfolk County, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 62,660 white students enrolled, making up 63.5% of the student body in Norfolk County.

The proportion of white students enrolled in the county rose over the year before.

Native American was the least represented ethnicity among Norfolk County students.

The number of students attending the County’s schools in the 2021-22 school year grew to 98,678.

Students in Massachusetts are predominantly white, according to state data from 2020, with only 35% of the students considered people of color.

Across the state, Hispanic and Latino students suffered the highest high school dropout rates.

Underrepresentation is also found among educators in Massachusetts. The Rennie Center reported that only 9% of teachers are people of color.
