BERLIN SELECT BOARD PROCLAMATION DENNIS FEAREBAY DAY – Friday, February 3, 2023
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay has with great skill, dedication and professionalism served as the Berlin Treasurer/Collector (first elected Treasurer 20 years ago, eventually serving by appointment, and serving as appointed Collector since July 2018;
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay has long served as a member of the Administrative Finance Team;
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay has long served as a Harassment Investigator for the Town;
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay has long served on the (Health) Insurance Advisory Committee;
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay has served for 20 years as an Election Warden;
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay was a founding member of the then “Ad Hoc Capital Planning Committee”;
WHEREAS the Town has benefitted from Dennis Fearebay’s prior service as a 24-hour per day on-call volunteer member of the Berlin Emergency Rescue Squad as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT);
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay served from 2019-2021 as Treasurer of the Berlin Retirement Homes Inc. non-profit corporation which is focused on providing affordable housing for Berlin’s seniors since 1977;
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay has long volunteered at the Jones Road Transfer Station “Take It or Leave It” Shed and intends to continue in that capacity following retirement; and
WHEREAS Dennis Fearebay and his wife, Lorinda, have resided in Berlin for over 40 years and reared their children, Joseph and Charlotte, in Town, and now a grandson, Trevor;
NOW, THEREFORE we, the members of the Berlin Select Board, do hereby proclaim Friday, February 3, 2023 (Dennis’ last full day on the job) as
